About

We built be-FULL because habit apps kept failing us.

The data was always there. The one thing to do differently was not. We decided to fix that.

Life design is not a dashboard.

Working adults in Japan carry more health data than any previous generation. Wearables, sleep apps, step counters, heart rate monitors. Dashboards full of numbers, scores that reset every week, streaks that break on busy Thursdays. None of it tells you what to actually change.

be-FULL was founded in Tokyo in 2023 by Ryota Iwai with a simpler premise: observe a person's real rhythms, find the single highest-leverage adjustment for their current week, and give them just that one thing. No list. No score. No streak pressure. One specific action, matched to how their week is actually going.

We believe the future of wellness is less information and more clarity. Less tracking more things and more doing one right thing. Life design, in our view, is the practice of making deliberate micro-choices that compound into a life that feels like yours.

One thing at a time
Multi-habit programs fail because attention is finite. We respect that.
Pattern over data
A single data point means nothing. The shape across three weeks tells a story.
Real life first
Busy weeks happen. be-FULL adjusts to your actual life, not an idealized version of it.
The Team

The people behind be-FULL

Ryota Iwai, CEO and Co-Founder of be-FULL
Ryota Iwai
CEO and Co-Founder

Former product manager at a Tokyo health data company. Spent two years obsessively tracking his own wellness data before realizing he had no idea what to actually do with it. That frustration became be-FULL.

Yuki Matsuda, Product and Design Co-Founder of be-FULL

Product and Design, Co-Founder

Interaction designer with a background in mobile consumer apps. Believes the hardest design problem in wellness is removing features, not adding them. Responsible for the 3-question ritual's deceptively simple form.

Kenji Tanaka, AI and Data Co-Founder of be-FULL

Machine learning engineer who previously built recommendation systems at a consumer technology company. At be-FULL, he leads the matching engine that turns raw check-in patterns into one concrete weekly action.

How it started

How it started.

In early 2023, Ryota kept a spreadsheet. Sleep hours, energy ratings, how his meetings had gone, whether he had exercised. After six months he had 180 rows of data and no clearer sense of what to change. He was tracking everything and changing nothing.

One weekend he wrote a simple script to look for correlations. It flagged one thing: on weeks when he had more than three evening meetings, his sleep quality dropped, and his mood on Friday was measurably worse. The fix was obvious once named. Stop booking dinners on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. That one change held for four months. He built be-FULL because he suspected the problem was universal and the solution had to be that specific. Early users who tested a rough version in late 2023 reported the same thing: not the app, just the one clear action, delivered at the right moment.
